Kumamoto University Alumni Meeting takes place in Hanoi, Vietnam
On March 27th, 2018, a Kumamoto University Alumni Meeting was held in Hanoi city, Vietnam. Thanks to the cooperation of Associate Professor Bach, National University of Civil Engineering, who had previously studied abroad in Kumamoto University, 15 Vietnamese former Kumamoto University students, Mrs. Do Hoang Ngan and Mr. Hoang Van Nhan, the Deputy Chairman of Japan Alumni of Vietnam (JAV), participated in the meeting.
Beginning with a greeting by Prof. Bach, Kumamoto University Vice President Prof. Takashima, Adviser Consultant of Kumamoto University Dr. Furukawa, and Mr. Hoang Van Nhan gave speeches and expressed the hope for further exchange between Kumamoto and Vietnam. After that, participants introduced themselves and Prof. Quitain of the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies gave a presentation on recent activities at Kumamoto University. Lastly, Prof. Torii, the Vice Director of the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies, made closing remarks. Participants enjoyed reunions with friends and traded opinions on future exchange with faculties of Kumamoto University.
We will keep working towards establishing the Vietnam Alumni Association, which would be the third official overseas alumni association of Kumamoto University.

8: 00-12: 00 Reception /Listening /Reading /Writing

Application period: Saturday, April 21 – Monday, July 2 **June 27, if payment is through convenience stores
Examination fee: ¥ 25,380 (tax included)

Japanese Language Course for Beginners
College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies will start a special Japanese Language Course for Beginners. Any international student and researcher who belong to Kumamoto University and have not learned Japanese can join this course. And this course is also open to their spouses.
Period: May 21 to July 5, 2018
Day and Time: Mondays and Thursdays 10:00AM~12:00PM
*No classes on June 11 and 14.
Place: Classroom 1C on the 1st floor of the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies (Kurokami North Campus)
Eligibility: Those who satisfy all the following conditions.
● Have not learned Japanese before and understand basic English.
● Are Kumamoto University Student/Faculty/Researcher and/or their spouses.
● Can attend all 12 classes.
Fixed Number: up to 10 people
Fee: FREE (Textbooks (around 2,000 yen) must be purchased by participants)
Level: Beginner
