[Deadline] August 31,2023
[Application guideline] Entries must be submitted via the homepage. Each applicant can enter up to two haiku poems.
Entries are only possible in English, Chinese and Spanish. Please include name, country, city, e-mail address, and phone number.
All submissions to the “Kusamakura” Haiku Competition must be original and must not have been previously published. Any plagiarized and imitative haiku shall not be accepted.
[Fee] Free.
[Contest Results]Winners will be informed by e-mail or phone by the end of October 2023, and at the same time will be asked current address to send the prize.
If the winner cannot be contacted in person by e-mail or phone, the award will be cancelled.
[Awards ceremony]The awarding ceremony will be held on November 18 in Kumamoto City. Winners of non-Japanese will have their prizes by mail.
[Publication]Prize winning Haikus will be displayed on homepage at middle of January 2024.

2023年度 前期 教養教育科目Multidisciplinary Studiesのご案内
多言語文化総合教育センターでは、英語による教養教育科目Multidisciplinary Studiesを開講します。
全学部の学生が対象で、英語で教養教育を学ぶことができる良い機会ですので、ぜひ履修してください。
なお、大学院生は担当教員の許可を得て聴講することが可能です。（単位は取得できません。）

2023前期 Multidisciplinary Studies英語による教養教育
令和4年度後期 熊本大学日本語研修コース 修了式・短期留学プログラム閉講式を行いました！
令和5年2月21日（火）に、熊本大学黒髪北キャンパスの多言語文化総合教育棟交流ラウンジにて、令和4年度後期の熊本大学日本語研修コース 修了式・短期留学プログラム閉講式を行いました。 今回はコロナ後初の対面での閉講式となり、今期でプログラム期間を終了した日本語研修コース生2名と短期留学プログラム生23名が出席しました。日本式の式典に少し緊張した面持ちでしたが、和やかな雰囲気の中式典が始まり、副学長からのご挨拶のあと、日本語研修コース生と短期留学プログラム生代表から、学修経験とたくさんの思い出がつまった日本語での代表謝辞がありました。少し気温は冷たかったですが、暖かな日差しの中、笑顔で集合写真をとり、無事に式を執り行うことができました。
The lounge at the Center for International Education was held the “Completion Ceremony for the “Fall 2022 Intensive Japanese Program & Closing Ceremony for the Short-Term Exchange Program” on Tuesday, February 21. As this event was the first face-to-face ceremony after the new corona pandemic, there were two Japanese Intensive course students and twenty-three University Short-Term Exchange Program students attended. Although the students had a little nervous expression on their faces for the Japanese style ceremony, the ceremony started in a cozy atmosphere. After the Congratulatory Address from Vice President, we had messages of gratitude with full of learning experiences and memories from a student representative from the Japanese Intensive Course and Short-Term Exchange Program. It was cold on that day; however, we could take group pictures with smiles in warm spring sunlight and had completed the ceremony.
第3回 Global Education Open Seminar Series-日本近代化の再考 – 明治大衆メディアと『文明開化』-の開催
多言語文化総合教育センターでは、2月15日(水)に「第3回Global Education Open Seminar Series」を開催します。参加費は無料で、熊本大学の学生・教職員以外に、一般の方もご参加いただけます。詳細についてはポスターをご覧ください。多くの皆さまのご参加をお待ちしております。

多文化共生留学生シンポジウムを開催しました!
2022年12月17日（土）、熊本市国際交流会館で多文化共生留学生シンポジウムが対面とオンラインとのハイブリッド形式で開催され、熊本県内の大学に通う留学生や高校生など35名が参加しました。今年度は「今、自分の国での話題のニュース」と題して、本学留学生2名を含む6名の留学生（スリランカ、インドネシア、ドイツ、中国、スイス出身）が自国で話題になっているニュースを日本語で発表しました。
インドネシアからの留学生の方は、昨年インドネシアで起きた大きな地震と頻発している自然災害について、国内が混乱に陥った様子や大きな被害に繋がった理由を説明しました。また、今後の災害に対して国民や政府が備えている様子やインドネシアの人々の無事を祈る気持ちを話してくれました。
また、スイスの留学生の方は昨年2月に始まったロシアによるウクライナ侵攻について、永世中立国としての難しい立場について説明してくれました。スイス製の武器を巡っては、武器の輸出先であるドイツとの間にウクライナ支援に関して意見の衝突がある事を解説し、「永世中立国であるスイスは武器を作るべきではない。世界の平和ではなく自国の立場と平和しか考えていないように思える。」と一国民としての意見を聞かせてくれました。
参加者からは、「どのテーマも興味深くてとても面白いものばかりでした。」「その国ごとの詳しい現状を知ることができました。」「留学生と交流するという場に初めて参加したので、とても新鮮で貴重な体験になりました。」などの感想が寄せられ、多文化に触れ合う貴重な時間となりました。
