NATURE AND ITS MANIFESTATIONS: FROM FOUR POEMS

 [Film’s information]

This is a documentary film about a documentary filmmaker and two photographers: Austrian filmmaker Nikolaus Geyrhalter, Korean photographer Chung Chu-Ha and Keiji Tsuyuguchi, who is a photographer based in Hokkaido, Japan. All of them capture Fukushima in their work; but each one of them has his own approach and focus. Thus, although they have different awareness of the problems, they have chosen Fukushima as a common place to work on. For Nikolaus Geyrhalter, Fukushima is the location his upcoming movie “Sometime” (renamed “HOMO SAPIENS”), a film showing the world after human beings have disappeared. For Chung Chu-Ha, Fukushima is the theme following  “A Pleasant Day,” a film in which nuclear power plants are likened to fire, and “Does Spring Come To Stolen Fields?” is a film focusing on scenes of disaster-struck areas in Fukushima. For Keiji Tsuyuguchi, Fukushima is part of his “Natural History,” which he has had a hard time capturing. In addition, a narrator and artists recite poems in Fukushima, Hiroshima and Tokyo while Mr. Geyrhalter, Mr. Chung and Mr. Tsuyuguchi were being filmed.
